I am a social media enthusiast who started as an intern with the Mail & Guardian Online, a platform that helped her focus her attention on online media and its related mechanics. My experience spans from the online portals of the Mail & Guardian, but also the weekly print paper and the Inter Press Service.
I am currently Head of Content, community management and ORM at Cerebra, a social and traditional communication agency. I am a writer, blogger, tech junkie, a freelance journalist (when time permits) and an ardent sport fan.
My passion lies in social media and journalism. New (or social) media has changed the journalism landscape. With the advent of citizen journalism, reporters may soon become an extinct breed. She understands that communication is no longer one way street, but that businesses, who understand and adapt to it quicker, build trust and brand loyalty with consumers – which is why I am such a staunch advocate of new media.
